I already know that it cannot run on the PS3 because Linux doesn't have Direct Memory Access on the PS3 and therefore cannot use the nVidia RSX as a hardware accelerator.

Since WoW can already run on Linux, could it possibly run on a version of Linux installed on a PS2 or XBox?  And then use a mouse and keyboard plugged into either for that?

My friend is interested in trying to run it on his PS2.

apparently you can run wow on wine, but no wine on linux for ps2

Third, you cannot run WINE on PS2 Linux. This limitation is implied because WINE needs a x86 core processor to run. Yes, this means WINE cannot be ported to any other plataform than a PC.

If any PC that is less than 8 years old is faster than a PS2, then why would he want to run it on a PS2 and not a PC?

So when he has people, both of them can run WoW at the same time.  It's not gonna be pretty but if it plays, he'd be happy with it.  Unfortunately it doesn't appear that it would work unless someone makes a working version of Wine for PS2.
