So I had my Q9300 running stable at 3.22GHz for a few months, and today I decided to OC the ram.

I know nothing about it, so I just did what Aries told me in the old thread, and went +0.3V and 4-4-4-15.

Upon restart, it rapid-restarted 5 times before booting into windows, where everything worked perfectly. However, manually changing FSB was disabled, sending my CPU back to stock speed (~2.5Ghz). I put the ram back to where it was, underclocked (5-5-5-15), and tried to set the FSB back up. again, rapid re-starts, back at stock speed. Everytime I attempt to OC the CPU in the BIOS, it restarts 5 times and sets it back to default when I save it.

I've disabled C1E and Speedstep.

I Read somewhere on the internet that this reaction comes from the mobo testing if the overclock is "safe". Apparently, the mobo thinks it isn't, when I know from experience that it is.

It's back at factory settings now.

Make sure ram doesn't go over 2.1 volts.

Yes. Gigabyte boards (other too?) will try your new settings, and if they don't work, boot back to default. Saving you from clearing the cmos every time you go over.

If my settings don't work I don't go to default settings, i continue from where i finished. It saves me a lot of time.
