John Stewart is known for poking fun at the right. Well it seems the left is fair game also.

Stewart skewers the left’s paranoia over McCain’s ads

I tend to think Stewart makes fun of anyone who deserves it, regardless of affiliation.  It just happened to be the right for years.  I mean any "true" right winger knows Bush was not a good face man for the party.  He always pokes at the left too when they deserve it.  In fact, he scoffs at the whole notion of left and right, as seen on his interview on crossfire or whatever it was called...

Except all the white people I know.

*edit:  I really haven't given Stewart much air time on my tv.  He seemed to be poking fun at the whole absurdity of the situation, both canidates and the media.  He had a few excellent points.

I'd like to see a speech where that Obama guy is using the race card and shit like that. Everyone here always talks about how he's bringing up the race issue all the time, I'd just like to see it for myself and see if this guy is like that

That part of the speech you are referring to is in the video K-Man provided.

Wait. Are we talking about the same part?  I'm referring to the his line about not looking like the dead presidents on dollar bills.  If the 20+ years of going to a church and being indoctronated by a rascist pastor isn't enough though....

On the muslim part... Obama did have a considerable muslim background.  Remember that 57 states quip?  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizati … Conference  concidence?

I'm not old enough to have listened to Stewart during the Clinton years, but it seems to me like everyone says that he makes fun of whoever is available. There is just more republican material at the moment because of the President. I am eager to see a democratic president if nothing else to see if he starts liberal bashing more often.

I do actually think the same applies to Colbert. Even though on the surface he is blatantly parodying republicans, it seems to me that he does get some shots in at liberals at well under the surface. Maybe it's just me agreeing with him more often than he intends.

Not too many are saying that... and calling him muslim would not be playing the 'race card.'  That would be the 'religion card.'  Get your "Playing Cards of Dirty American Politics" book out and reread it.

I do think that Obama is a rascist.  I also think he tosses people aside as soon as they become any kind of liability,  His Grandma, His aide, His pastor, The rapper, Clark....  All of these people he considered "friends" and look how he's treated them.  What do you think he'll do to you or me, guys he doesn't even know or care about?  I ain't looking for that kind of "change" and refuse to chant O"bahaha"ma.

I don't think an argument is needed to refute your frankly insane idea that somehow when he intended to talk about the States, he accidentally started talking about the OIC. Surely he should have said 58, as when he becomes president he's going to make the US join, and get everyone to convert to Islam?

And yes, I'm sure you're glad I can't vote, after all, it sure would be a shame to have one of those dirty Muslims running the greatest nation on Earth, wouldn't it?

As if there's much of a difference.

The far right wing loonies are doing exactly what he said they are.  Presenting him as foreign, and it just makes it easier because he's black.

And ya he did come from a muslim background.  Who gives a fuck.

Even the muslim comments are going away... and no one even near official has said anything.  Of course, Obama said they were going to use it.  Proclaimed it.  He jumped up and claimed status as being attack with race without the republican side ever sayign anything.

That would be the "Victim" card.  And he managed to pull it off despite not being attacked.

Oh please.  As if McCain doesn't do the exact same thing by saying the media is against him.

You see, it's not that I don't think Obama isn't full of shit, its just you guys like to have it both ways.  You say Jon Stewarts liberally biased and then use it to your advantage when he demonstrates that he's not.

*shakes head*

edit- I know I'm generalizing but thats the cool thing to do nowadays, right?  LOL

I just wish he'd go back to the guy he used to be, willing to stand up to his party, willing to be the lone voice, willing to be the leader.  Seems to me since he entered the foray, he's just assumed the pandering position.  He'd rather follow lately, and I don't know how many votes that will get outside of his main base.

I used to love McCain, and still sometimes am the only person in a room of bleeding hearts who has the audacity to say we wouldn't be screwed if he won.  I just hope that he goes back to his more "lone wolf" stance, if he were to win.

Didn't say he didn't shit on everyone... he's a funny guy...... easy big fella...

and i guess you missed this...

Barack...
“We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid.
“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

What they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me,” Obama said. “You know, he doesn’t look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

....He is bringing up race and hiding behind it... McCain hasn't brought up race at all...

and actually he's not that popular with white voters... not that it should matter...

most people are wising up to his lack of experience and desire to raise taxes...
