i bet this chip will keep its value over the next couple years, since it is the last non-extreme chip for lga775. it may be a good investment if you can get it for cheap, and have the correct hardware already to run it.

I also just noticed - that link I gave - that's the retail Q9650, and I was comparing it to the OEM QX9650 - so it'll be even less than 5/6's the price of the Extreme!

EDIT: Almost half in fact!

Retail QX9650 - £616.86 inc VAT

Retail Q9650 - £338.98 inc VAT
