When will HD become standard TV? Because tbh, I can barely watch anything that is not in HD.
well in Feb. 2009 all TV will switch to digital broadcasting...which means better quality, but not HD quality.
I say within the next 3 years what we see as HD (1080i) will replace what's standard today (480i/p)

1080i makes normal tv seem like the stone ages
Anyone ever seen that Planet Earth series in HD? Shit's cool.
Normal TV doesn't bother me too much, but when I accidentally record the normal version of shows instead of the HD one it pisses me off.

Nothing like watching a good HD program followed by s shitty local FailD commercial.
yep. and i will sit and watch sunrise earth for the sheer visual value.Home wrote:

You just wait, in a few years everyone will have an IMAX theatre in their homes.
It really does. Our cable just got like 10 more HD channels. The Weather Channel, Fox News (lol), Discovery, The Science Channel, Nickelodeon (omg dora in HD yay), TLC, Spike, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, FX, Speed...etc.usmarine wrote:

I'm watching Transformers on HBOHD and it's fucking sick.
It looks much better in Blu-Ray though.

yeah p has 5 times the scans that i does, resulting in a much crisper picture.
Basicly you have 3 choices after that time to recieve a signal, have an HDTV with service to a cable provider, have your normal tv with a cable provider, have your normal tv with a decoder box without a cable provider.
