Ok yet another idea....


I dont see anything wrong with the GL EXCEPT too many people use it.  What I mean is too many per army.  The GL is a squad weapon.  So...to "improve" squad use why not make the weapons a squad base deal.  IE: 1 medic, 1 GL, 1 AT per squad.  Anything else go.  i know i know what about assault they are  the base of the ground work so maybe a assauly kit w/o a GL if the GL is already picked.  So if you want your precious GL better SQUAD UP.  Same as my vehicle idea rank would apply here as well. (for who gets what first)


What do you think???

Good idea. Would encourage people to join squads. If they don't behave you can kick them. In the squad consiting of friends with whom i play regularly with we have a basic disposition that is close to your idea. In my opinion the max for one class should be 2 of each class/squad.

Our perfect (?) squads consists of two sections (one for maneuver/assault and one for support/supressive fire).
In the assault section we have a SpecOps/AT, an assault, a medic (squad leader) and an AT/Engi. The support section consists of a support gunner (deputy squad leader) and a medic/sniper(SVD) to patch him up or give cover.

We found out, that to be able to keep the squad up and working all the time in a sustained combat situation two Medics are required. So i would say not more than two of one class in a squad and powertools only for squads (flashbangs, smoke).  And only one GL per Squad.

BTW: give the Suqadleader some damn binoculars! (i use the L85 as a substitute for them but since the G36E came up good old enfiled seldom gets used)

Yeah,the usual...

All these noobs want their tube,even while sitting in a tank(now that's a tube!) they just need a fire&forget-weapon(because they are scared to lose a duel and their frail egos just can't take that).

Just look at the scores,there you can see the little icons of each class,most of the people are specops or assault,sure,we all heard of that "base of fire"-mickey-mouse-bullshit,but those people who are supposed to be the base of fire always demand a vehicle for themselves despite having no teamwork ability.

If you aren't engineer,support or at least medic in a vehicle you are taking away precious space for people who would be more useful to the team than an assaultclass in a tank.
And that's just the vehicle problem.
The squads are mostly just wildly mixed and nobody cares if there's ammo needed or the tickets go down in supersonic speed because nobody revives people,as long as they have their GL to feel powerful with.

The people who choose assaultclass have to assault(that means on foot!!!),not taking the vehicles away from the not so heavily armed engineer(who has in return the great ability of fixing things).

The game is great as it is,only the people who play it f*ck it up.

I see more spec ops then assault's and medics least i see is enginer and anti tank.

thats bc anti tank weapon is a joke and you cant use the eng kit to its full power (too many bumb azzs running over your mines)and its primary weapon is an even bigger joke than anti tank. I love the eng class (APC whore) but I would not dream of using it on foot even with the mp7 that's a nice weapon but they are going fix it i guess in the next patch....

In BF1942 I was able to keep a tank up and running for the whole round(and there was no repairing standing close to another vehicle!),in BF2 it takes 30 secs for an assaulter to get maybe 3 kills and wreck up the tank.

If there is anything what is useless - it's an assaulter in a tank!!!

thats so right! a play an engineer very often, and i have seen it many many times that somebody takes the tank/apc, rushes away and a minute later he's back again and wants to do the same bullshit again. as an engineer on karkand i die only 2 to 3 times when im in a tank or apc. youll die fast without repair!

How is an engineer going to be useful in a tank? They can only repair vehicles beside them without having to get out and rarely do you see two vehicles together anyway...so what's the point?

my thing is if your an assault and your good in a tank vs. an engineer who sucks in the tank, then the assault deserves the tank!

plus, assault kits have the benefit to get out of the tank if it gets critical during a fight and continue to kill people on foot, engineers pretty much suck on foot so they're almost better off just dying in the tank

When I am in a tank and I have assaulter-support I take out enemy APCs/tanks and when the tank has too much damage(more than half of the energy gone) I drive away to a relatively secure spot to fix it and I'm back in action in about 20 secs.

But what happens when you reach a destroyed bridge?
Let me guess:you just wait like the rest of those mighty assaulters(pun intended!) that somebody repairs the bridge,in the meantime you just stand there,maybe get some kills and wait for a jet or chopper to bomb/missile you into bits,right?

blindfisch ur so right!!! but i think those "experts" dont really know how to use a tank properly and theyll never learn!

oh, i forgot: genius, how hard is it to stop two apcs and a tank all driven by engineers which stay close together? go and try! ull fail!

Damn right, Blindfish!!! Do you love it so much as me, when you're at your save spot to fix up your tank and a nerd comin' by to take the warmed up seat, while you're repairing? Hehe...most of them are Assaulter's or Spec's...

Btw, also an alternative in a vehicle (especially APC) is Medic or Supplier. There you can help your Mates in the line of fire without to get shot too quickly.

When playing on Warlord or Karkand, im either an engineer, or an anti-tank with an opposite class friend.
Thus when encountering a tank/apc one of us (the gunner) jumps out with the RPG7/Eryx/SRAW, or to repair the tank. I got 55 kills and 3 deaths + a shitload of flagcaps because of the engineer/at combo.

Why assaulters take the tank? I don't know. Assaulters on maps like Warlord should be pre-occupied with taking the Palace/TV Station/Insurgent Hideout flags, places the armor/transport can't reach.

And to our genius. Have you ever tried taking on the T90 and two BTR-90's while all three drivers are engineer? I'll give you a spoiler. One 125mm cannon, and two missiles launchers accompanied by two I don't know what caliber cannons. You can fire one or two shot but then you are owned BIG time.

But even without BTR or LAV support. If you damage me too much, I'll just hide behind a wall jump out, repair enough hitpoints, come back and kill you.

Most enemy tank drivers dont realize that you might be repairing a vehicle, or as said in my combo, dont expect a load of AT-weapons comming their way. Because they are in seventh heaven, having an orgasm with the though they killed a tank. NOT. Suprise. RPG7 delivery, right on your turret. *BOOM*.
And while me or my friend killed you, one of use repaired the tank and we get to own another soul.

Other games have limited the use of a weapon allowing so many per team instead of per squad. You have to think of the terrible havoc this would cause. This of how many people complain about not having the vehicle beucase some "noob" took it. What would experianced players be saying if all teh GLs were "wasted" on morons?
