Messi leads the team to excel, as he does in Barcelona. Best player in the world at this moment, imo. Him or Xavi.
Not really. But right now Messi is on fire. A year back I would have said el 'Kun' and Diego Milito.Mek-Stizzle wrote:

Gago - Real Madrid
Riquelme - Played for Barca and lead Villareal to the semi finals of the Champions League 3 years ago i think, now Boca Juniors
Mascherano - Liverpool
Burdisso - Inter Milan
Aguero - Atletico Madrid
Sosa - Bayern Munich
This is a great team
Since when did I claim that they are shit?
Oh yes, of course, because you play for a big team, that makes you good.
.Sup, lacking authority? He just won the best player of the Euro award, then goes on to get vice captaincy of Barcelona and scores 5 goals in pre-season, whilst setting up 6. Yes, he really does lack authority. Yawn.

He's one of the best midfielders in the Premier League
The Makelele of Liverpool
No, I haven't seen Mascherano. I have been living in a box for a long time, sorry. Please, spare me the agony of writing another post.
I never said the team was shit, and I never said the players were shit. I just said that Messi was the best. Jeez.

I don't see him being mentioned in the news often. Messi on the other hand is being discussed a lot.Zimmer wrote:

Although I will admit Messi is probably the best player in the Olympic squad
nomar garciaparra is the best soccer player evar
Xavi is the kind of player who would walk into any teams midfield and start every game. He doesn't need to be discussed. He has been, without question, starting for Barcelona since he was 18. Nobody discusses him because he isn't stunningly amazing and young. He is the best passer and midfielder in the world. Trust me, when teams are up against Barcelona, their main threat will be Xavi putting in those through balls which are pin point and perfect. You yourself should have seen the amazing through ball he gave Torres to win the Euro final..Sup wrote:

It's still pre-season, he doesn't need to be mentioned.
Then don't watch the Olympics..Sup wrote:

The Brazilian team is unknown, I only know Ronaldinho. Go Nigeria. And whats with the second red card referee, are you drunk?
He played in the end stages of this years Champions League
So this isn't just a team
Of course, but you can't win with just one exceptional player. You need a good team too.Zimmer wrote:

May I correct that, he's the best central midfielder in the world. We call that position number 5, but you Brits, how do you call it? I don't know.Sven_Coolio wrote:

Yay, Argentina. My brothas from the south!
I thought that professionals were not allowed to play in Olympics, like the Boxers...?
What? Michael Phelps? Kobe Bryant? Ginobili? I think only boxing requires you to be amateur.robcr9 wrote:

Hockey too. Hell, just about all of the Canadian and American teams play in the NHL.sergeriver wrote:

Rick DiPietro.
lol, i cant believe 0 lost 3 brazil to the argies
No, don't get me wrong, i like him as a player and as a person but on the field I had the feeling teammates trust Messi more than Xavi. Thats why I mentioned his authority.Zimmer wrote:
