I'm lost, even when I'm just sitting here doing absolutely nothing, my hard drive LED indicator is going mad and my hard drive is making the noise hard drives make when you're about to load something. (It kinda sounds like a mix between something grinding and something clicking.)

It passes all of the hard drive checkers (SMART whatever... those things), I just don't know if it's a process or malware or something else that's making it do this?  I'm at a loss... help, it's annoying

Defrag, get more RAM.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Look in Task Manager and see what process is using the most CPU time.  Chances are that is the process causing this issue.  If you don't recognize it, Google for it and see if maybe your picked up something.

If you have a software firewall that can block outbound traffic, you may want to have it start blocking all traffic, then give permissions to applications you know are valid.  I've identified virus infected systems this way.
