I have no idea where this comment fits in.

Iran doesn't want to buy US products.  But they buy wheat.  Is this wrong?

2nd at the OP - Schumaker is a crazy IMO.  All the wheat exported is used.  If the Iranians weren't buying it, another country would.  Hinting about a grain embargo is garbage.  And if executed it would be stupid.

Your government/grain traders are not taking away the food from your own people to give it away for free to your "enemies", they simply refuse to give it to anyone who is not able to pay for it - and give it to anyone who can.

And if letting a misguided, uneducated, misinformed people hunger because their government opposes yours is a valid cause of action for you - then I have nothing elso to say to you.

I asked "what" because I didn't see anyone saying that stuff. It seemed you went on an unprovoked rant there.

Well, I would bet money that the Iranians buying products of the wheat supplied by the US have no idea where it came from.  Do I have a problem with feeding those that burn my flag and effigies of our President in their streets while chanting "Death to the Great Satan"?  Yes.  Do I have a problem with feeding those that supply arms, explosive, training and other equipment to enemies of the US?  Yes.  Do I have a problem with feeding the guy's wives and kids?  Kinda.

Some of these misguided, uneducated, misinformed masses you write of indirectly and directly play a role in the deaths of some US soldiers.  I have problem with feeding those people.  If you don't then I have nothing else to say to you.

"In other news, wheat speculators react to the recent price increase on the barrel of oil, and  have "adjusted" the price of wheat....."  That'd be great.

Would probably have helped if you had included that bit in your post, since it was pretty well removed from what you were responding to.

Eat it, Mek.

It seems that many Iranians don't fit the flag-burning, great-satan-chanting stereotype
At least according to this guy

I would say it's smart to sell the wheat, and do anything else that keeps the public there from rallying around the mullahs--there is serious discontent with the government there.

Agreed.  We should stop rattling the sabers and basically look Ahmadinejad right in the eye while we sell his people food.  Eventually, with enough publicity of this sort of thing, he'll be less condemning of us and we'll be less condemning of him.
