Okay maybe Blurays are worth the money but PS2 games had the same price- 1/3 more that PC game prices and imo they offered less.
In fact, I remember being surprised at how expensive they were to a jobless 13 year old like me when the 360 came out in late December 2005.
Euros, my mistake.Poseidon wrote:

Well, back then I have no idea what the currency rate was, but still doesn't even sound that bad. I don't mind paying for my games whatsoever. I'm not one of those "OMG EA IS EVIL (that's Activision now anyways)" people. I trust the gaming industry and will give my money to them if it means better quality games in the future..Sup wrote:

Like I said - I can understand DLing music. The music industry is 100% ridiculous. Movies and games however, I just don't.
All I know is in Australia we are getting ripped off. Big time. We pay near double what many countries pay for games.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Eh - producers of good games deserve their money! I bought Assassin's Creed - it's a fun game (however repetitive it may have been) and no one can deny that. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
But, to be fair, I tried playing a pirated copy first to see how it played and handled on my computer.

its the market. shit flies the shelf at those prices. there aint any boycott that i can see. maybe if people would stop lining up outside best buy for game releases, they would have no choice but to lower prices..Sup wrote:
But what about PS3 game prices? Is Bluray really that much more expensive or are just publishers getting greedier?
you guys are blaming the publishers, when it really is the gamers who are fucking the rest of you. thats a fact.

Oh this is till going on then huh.
Stealing is wrong and you'll go to hell.
Stealing saves money and you get free shit.
There, we've decided that. End.

In every single market always expect the bootlegger as when the mob did during prohibition they had a system. Today piracy think they are doing this for the good of the people in which case always is a bad idea. Yes i have been pirating games, but most of the times i only get the games if
#1 if its a good from hearing it so i try it out.
#2 if i already have the actual copy ill get a pirated version of the game so that me and my brother play Lan because i really feel its retarded to purchase 2 copies of the game.
#3 try out the single player hopefully I'll get a idea of the Multi player and then buy it.
# 4 to even see if my computer even handles it.
Well during my time pirating the only thing I can say is I can't stand the people who want the download to go faster or if they can play the multi player if you can't wait just get the game. Then there are those asshole that make cracks so it can play on the multi player. What I'm trying to say is I hate those bastard who only do it for the multi player if you like a game so much you should give the company the befit of the doubt and give the money they deserve. Some game have been projected for a couple years in the making and that person screws them out that those days. What I'm trying to say is get a job and buy the game.

If I'm not mistaken, Mikkel is in Denmark, so that would explain the price difference.Poseidon wrote:
PC games are $45-$50 bucks. That's really not that bad.mikkel wrote:
I agree that people will always steal, but I'm sure we can also agree that a considerable portion of the people who pirate games are people who simply cannot afford to maintain the collections that they have at the current prices. This was definitely the case for me going through college. There was no way that I could afford spending $70 on a game, but if it was closer to $40, it'd be a lot more plausible.usmarine wrote:

For whatever reason, we get electronics so much cheaper than almost everybody else. The only countries that typically get games for cheaper than us are places like Japan.
great job taking what I said out of conext.Sup wrote:

I do it because I don't want to pay for it or don't have the money to pay for it (ie - I wouldn't have bought it if piracy wasn't possible). But that isn't a valid reason, it's still stealing..Sup wrote:
Well why fucking do it then? Saying how wrong it is to download torrents yet you do it yourself.Jenspm wrote:

Good for you if you can afford it
If I couldn't afford it, would it be ok if I went into a store and stole a TV?
If I thought the TVs were overpriced, would it be ok if I stole one?
