Edit: I was guessing Romney. Almost every media outlet is saying Palin this morning.
Check that.. It's official

I just heard that McCain said that they would not leak it out tonight out of respect to Obama. That was pretty cool. I was thinking that the most obvious political move would be to let the cat out of the bag in order to steal the attention back. Yea, I know it's politics as well.. but it's still the right thing to do. You don't see that too often. Credit where credit is due.

McCain to Obama: "Well done"

Update: For what it’s worth, and probably not much, a source tells James Poulos at the Confabulum that Romney “no longer understands himself to be in consideration” and that he’ll be home in Massachusetts tomorrow. I wonder if this is why.
^^^Should have took this as a matter of fact.

Didn't Biden announce he was out of consideration just before he was selected? Romney is copying him.

Right. I'll wait until I see the overwhelming poll numbers due to Obama night.

Did you know that it's just like JFK and Ike and the anniversary of the 'I have a dream' speech and B.B/A.B. (before Barack/after Barack) and...ugh.

You know, I was thinking...when's Gustav supposed to hit N'Awlins?

That'd take a lot of attention away from the RNC...

They're considering delaying the start of the convention until after the storm passes.

On their part (and out of respect) that'd be a really, really wise move.

This could be the storm that finally puts NO under.

Damn, she's a MILF and McCains ticket to the Whitehouse

Also her political views are sound. Strongly pro-life is a negative in my eyes, but otherwise its a good choice for the Republicans.

Smart of the republicans to come out with a woman.  If it were just two old white guys again, they might be left in the dust.  The fact is...the people want this presidency to be ground-breaking(it's time).  The only way the R's can compete with Barack is by having a woman in it.  Really, look what Obama's campaign did.  They put an old white guy with lots of time and experience under his belt as the right hand man.  Both campaigns have the right idea...I guess we will have to see which combination is better.

I am excited about this race...

8 years of Bush didn't really change anything. TBH I find it hard to believe that any politicians are actually pro-life and don't just say it for the sake of their careers.

Yeah, I got pro-choice and pro-life mixed up for a second. I just woke up, gimme a break.

I still don't think it's a good choice.

He goes on and on about how Obama doesn't have any experience and picks someone like this?

The president and the vice president are two entirely different positions. If your banking on McCain croaking the first couple of years then yea. But the VP is one of the most useless position in American Politics.
