I was just thinking about Tripwire interactive (Red Orchestra devs) and it occured to me that if Project Reality got a similar release as a stand alone game, would you buy it?

Don't take me wrong, PR is awesome mod, today's release is probably the best since 0.5, but...paying for virtual walking simulator - no. I play PR to take a brake from vanilla, I've never played vanilla to take a brake from PR.

Yes... But only if they do 2 things.
1. Keep the teamwork reduce the walking.
2. If it's a modern game set realistically, then please don't make the factions almost the same! Diversi-fucking-fy! I fucking loved it when the G3 in .5 was the most powerful and most accurate rifle in the game, And when the M16A2 was more accurate then the QBZ-95. Now the only difference is damage.
EDIT: A few more reasons.
3. Actually they should diversify each weapon even more. Heavier caliber bullets can hit up to 800m, whilst the lower cal can only go about half that. Regardless of what weapon.
4. Optics should be up to the player.
5. Shorter respawns.

Actually I hate one other thing. I remeber the times when PR was only a minimod, and developers claimed that one of their main goals was to make weapons realistic. Back in 0.32-0.6 it was so, but right now it is a lot easier to kill someone with a vanilla M16A2 then with a PR's M16A4. I think they made it far away from reality, especially the CQB part - today I wasnt able to shoot insurgent at point blank with my M4\M68. I know how to aim, I know about deviation and shit, yet I was killed. Vety unimpressive, especially counting the fact that I've seen him first, I've flanked him (he havent seen that) and unloaded about 5 bursts into him before he managed to see me...real guns are badass in close quoters, why dev's made them so weak and innacurate?

i would buy it in an instant, it's basicly the only game i still play and it's probably the most satisfying experience ever in a game to complete a firefight or capture a objective in coordination with you team. and the friend ships you make because of the voip teamwork is epic.

The PR player count for today is comparable to that of BF2 SF, so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people bought PR if it was a stand alone game.
