how does it handle full screen high resolution videos? I heard Asus Eee 901 can't handle those well....

Well for uni any laptop would do.r'Eeee wrote:
So, is this good enough for just Internet, Word processing and watching movies while in the train. I can't be bothered in taking my whole PC with me to the university
Are there any other alternatives?
Igz look at my review under specs.i g wrote:
do they only come in white?
It plays 720p smootly but apparently 1080p stutters. But I don't see a reason to watch HD movies on it. Dvix and xvids look very good on it.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

And the storage. The Linux version has 8GB SSD I believe. I've read that those SSDs in all sub-notebooks aren't very fast.r'Eeee wrote:
Cool
So, there are quite few of them. Which one should I buy. The only difference that I see is the RAM and the OS.
512MB vs 1GB
Linux vs XP

Ye I know but new tech goes to Japan first. And I've seen JJK's vids. He makes cool reviews, has the first EEE and 901 I believe.CapnNismo wrote:
Actually, Asus is Chinese ...
But the 900A (or 901? I can't remember) is supposed to be getting built-in 3G through T-Mobile sometime. They announced it on the T-Mobile Germany site, but no idea when.
There's a guy named JKK (www.jkkmobile.com) who has a touchscreen 900 (lot of folks do), with 3G installed, I think GPS, and a few other things. Dude is a mod-master. Really cool site and has the newest stuff on the UMPCs.
379.90 I picked it up myself(10 minutes away so..)CapnNismo wrote:
Yea, he has all the EEEs. He did a quick video of the 900A, too. Not too impressed with that computer, much less the Linux Xandros distro that comes with it. That's one of the EEEs where you get what you pay for with that lower price.
How much did you pay for your Acer? I got my EEE for €382 shipped.
Yep looks like mine. Check out 4th post from the top on this second page of the topic.FFLink13 wrote:
Right.
