Dude, no offense, but go brush your teeth.
being serious for a second. I PERSONALLY don't like them. But obviously you do so it doesn't really matter. I've always thought that coloured lenses look stupid. I guess they're like those items of clothing people bring around that completely sticks out and they only wear it to be noticed like a really retarded hat or somehting. If I was you I'd use them for haloween or somethin. That'd be cool.
well, i never noticed the teeth...so the contacts are doing their job...yay.
...
lol thanks.
@ jack... read the OP "Zombie themed birthday pub/club crawl" explains the contacts i think.

Do coloured contact lenses ruin your eyesight? Haven't ever really looked into them...Poseidon wrote:

Normal contact lenses seem to do just fine- what's the big difference?

The ink in the colored contacts has been known to cause bad, bad eye problems. The ones from like, Acuvue which give you a NORMAL eye color are fine. However, when you buy from shady sites like this: http://www.colormecontacts.com/ ...Your eyes could get very, very fucked up.Uzique wrote:

This is coming from someone who's had NORMAL contacts since 2001.

Not only am I your neighborhood mod, I'm also a certified tech (A.B.O.M.)
Coloured CL's can be harmful to your eyes if you are buying cheap knock offs, bad product, or overwearing your contacts. (especially the crazy eyes kind) It's the surface of the lens that causes the damage. Alot of the crazy looks (ie. blackouts, cat eyes, spirals, fireballs, etc...) are constructed in a way that puts the color onto the surface of the lens. This "rough" surface is against your cornea/sclera. Your blinking constantly rubs off a layer of your eye/inner eyelid. Corneal abrasions = not good / very painful.
That all being said, I wear a pair of fireball, or white outs to the TX Renfest each year with my costume. I wouldn't condone wearing them as daily wear, but once a year... the risk is pretty low.
Please bear in mind, the average coloured CL (Freshlook, colorblends, etc.. ) are generally pretty safe. I found the Freshlook for astigmatism to be particularly uncomorftable for any length of time, but I have a steep eye.
Feel free to post optic Q&A to me. Marco is also particularly knowledgable in the fields of optical workings.
