I'm looking for a cheap good digital camcorder to record biking footage.  Something small and handheld, preferably rugged.  Yes actually, it has to be rugged.

Please try to keep the price under...$200?    Thanks all.

1: Get smallest sub-$200 SSD camcorder you can find
2: Get some plastic foil
3: Get some bubble wrap
4: Wrap camcorder in plastic foil and bubble wrap
5: Strap it onto your bike
6: Record biking footage
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I nearly got a headcam when I went to Morzine this summer.

OH YEAH, forgot to make a thread about that.... I ended up in hospital 2nd day

On topic... I use the 4mp camera on my N82 which records at 30fps which is pretty decent.

nah that was when i tripped on the toolbox.  most biking injuries for me are pretty small (never broken a bone in my life either).  that looks pretty bad.

too bouncy most of the time/we wont be able to film jumps as well (it's nicer if you get a side angle).  but if they're cheap maybe i'll get one too.  most of the ones ive looked at are over $100 which is too much for just a headcam imo.

Freezer: thanks, ill look into SSD camcorders.

Yeah, I've not broken any bones. Quite lucky actually.

Short clip of where I normally ride. I fell on the second bit of that video before the tree where I messed up my leg and did that^^^^

very nice.  i'm building a track in the backyard so i'm looking to add a lot of fun terrain like that balance ramp.

Nice, I wish I had the space to do that. Get lots of old wood and you can build some northshore skinnies to practice on.
