YEA screw those successful bastards!  Who cares if they've even earned it through blood, sweat and tears.  For God's sake there are poor people out there that can't be bothered to work.  The guy who tries must be punished!  How dare he build a house he's always dreamed of.  Who does he think he is?  He'll never use all of those rooms.  FFS McCain can't even remember how many houses he owns!  Can you imagine?  The audacity.....
No, not screw.  You're paying back to society what you (collectively) took from them.  There are poor and working people who need a leg up whether you or lowing like it or not.

Doing the right thing and getting rich are oxymorons, tbh.  Just look what its done to Washington DC

and btw, it was annoying me earlier but now its pissing me off.  Dont put words in someone elses mouth unless you know what the hell they're even talking about.

Possibly

I know people who could've sold out to big money but nope they did what they thought was right.  For a lower paycheck, obviously.

That was a baaaaaaaaaaad move by McCain. Like, really baaaaaaaaad. Not because I don't like the republicans, but really. It was just dumb.

Seriously, what was wrong with choosing a strong candidate like Romney? Choose someone who backs your strengths, not go for a cheap political play and disregard the drawbacks.
Actually many conservatives are going to vote for McCain because of his vp pick, if McCain went for Romney many people would be staying at home.

Hey lowing, do you have any idea on what surplus of wealth Oprah is sitting on?

Maybe she is more qualified to tell you who to vote for, since she has more money than you do.
I have no idea how much she has, probably just as much if not morethan EVERY OTHER RICH celebrity who lives in fantasyland and tries to tell me who to vote for, who t osave, who to give money to, which animals to protect, what to drive, what to eat, and basicall how to live.

Almost as bad as Al Gore doing all of these things yet does not practice it himself. Let me guess you love Al Gore to dontcha?
So you are saying that Oprah endorsed Obama but she will not vote for him ?
I have no idea wh oshe will vote for, but you bet yuor ass she endorsed him, as a matter of fact, she helped light a fire under his political career and helped make him a household name.

Its definitely a roll of the dice for republicans.  Personally I wished he picked Huckabee, but she looks good on paper.

Gaining wealth does not automatically mean "taking" from anyone, Spearhead.  Of course there are people in need and there always will be.  I'm one of them, tbh.  But I don't want one red cent from the guys who have worked to build a business or a product.  There are plenty of people who have done the right thing and are wealthy.  You'll find them easily if you can get past the "rich = bad" assumption.

To the 30% Christian conservatives...a good chunk of those No because of his social issues and, sad to say, his Mormonism; to fiscal conservatives, probably.

Wow...so I guess I'm a millionaire making $200k/year?  So if I make $50k/year I too am a millionaire?  My parents who never made more than $50k/year in their life are millionaires if they liquidated all their assets.

Let me know if any of those poor people ever got a job from another poor person.  Oh...and who builds those mansions, not rich people I bet.

What it comes down to is the way the rich are taxed.  They'd rather keep money in their pocket and lay off 50 workers, instead of taking it out of their own paycheck.

I'm talking big, big money here.  It's gotten to the point where corporations intentionally break the law, because the fines they have to pay are smaller than the profit they get.

Being rich is not always bad.  But...... there comes a point where these mega-rich people owe society some debt, as it was the society that made them so rich.

I know this goes against American way of thinking but I believe anyone who is "rich" has a moral obligation to do as much good and to give back as much as possible.  The real problem is that the entire system is so corrupt and bueacratic that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.  There's no middle class anymore.  I'll go off on a Marxist rant some other time.

whoa whoa whoa

You mean it is WRONG for people that have EARNED t owant to keep what they have EARNED?? This is MORE wrong than someone getting something FOR NOTHING??

Also what do you mean the rich OWES society and that they need to GIVE BACK?

Society ought thank our lucky stars there are people in that are willing to take RISKS, GET EDUCATED, HAVE MOTIVIATION and DRIVE, and DESIRE to SUCCEED, for without them the rest of us would not have jobs to EARN a living for ourselves. The rich does not need to GIVE BACK. They owe no one for succeeding, cetainly not the poor. The rich may give, and by pretty much all accounts are quite generous with they chrarity.
