Just like in topic, I'm looking forward to buy my very-own HD 4850, but i dont know if 1gb version is much faster than 512? Its quite much more expensive anyway... which version should i buy?

You probably won't see a difference.

You'll only see performance increase if the game you're playing uses more than 512mb of VRAM.

Nope if you look at the bench marks there is only a slight increase in fps no where near in proportion to how much more you pay for that extra 512mb.

What of throughout the life the life of this card you decided to get a new monitor and play at a higher resolution. Again all of this matters what the cost difference is.
