If you're wearing a short sleeved shirt to a job or interview you probably work at Walmart.
I roll the sleeves up on my dress shirt when it's hot outside.
Good point; I guess I'll just suffer until I have the job.

Good job I'm not trying to pick up dudes then.
I'm not trying to make an argument or anything so don't get the wrong idea; howevah - Some offices (at least in America) will require you don't have a beard (not necessarily clean shaven just not Grizzly Adams) and of course wear proper attire so they will also probably frown upon you showing off a sleeve tattoo (possibly asking you to keep your sleeves covering it, I don't think they can fire you for having a tattoo) so my best advice would be that if you want a large tattoo either get it from the shoulder to the elbow like some fine gentleman posted a picture of or get it somewhere else like your back/shoulders.

Are you thinking you're going to get all the skull stuff like in the pics in the OP? You into that kind of thing?

No beard? I've never heard of that rule. If anything, most places like either clean shaven or an actual beard. A full beard can be maintained and look professional (albeit ugly). It's all about looking clean and presentable. Rolled up sleeves won't do it. Once you have the job it's okay, but not for an interview. As long as the tattoo is coverable, they can't fire you for it. If you go get a Mike Tyson on your face and your job includes meeting clients, expect that pink slip.

If you're really worried about people seeing it, get it on your taint. Nobody ever looks there (unless you're into buttsecks).

Light colors do. Be careful what you pick. Some people are mildly allergic to the red ink and it'll be itchy for a few months. Yellow can fade easily and white will either fade or turn yellow. Your best bet is dark colors or black.

Stay out of chlorine and the sun for the first few months, they'll both fade your ink fast. Good thing summer's over.

Avoid the back of the neck. Get it somewhere where it can't be seen (chest/back/upper arm).

And getting pilot's wings tattooed on you when you haven't gone through UPT yet is not advisable, either.

I'm considering getting a hand print from each of my kids tattooed on. Either on each shoulder or over my heart. Haven't decided yet. That's really the only thing I think I wouldn't regret getting permanently etched in my skin.

Im not a fan of huge sleeves of tattoos, i would say go with a more unique design, more distinct placement. Go with something besides skulls, please........!!

Get some BMX tat's

Thank you. If you'd care to add some photos or something of things that are more to your taste that would be far more helpful.

I'm not really a fan of tattoos (so perhaps this is tarnishing my opinion), but if you are going to get a tattoo then get something that is artistic.  Both of those look confused and uncreative to me.

(The first is better than the second, colored one, but that is like saying dog poop is better than cat poop).

Do you have anything else you are considering?
I prefer the first one as well, the second was more an idea of the type of thing. When you say artistic, do you mean like a single image? I don't really know what I want right now, I'm just looking at as much as possible to get an idea of what I like, and then I'll design/have designed my own.
Here's some examples of full-arm tattoos that I consider both creative and artistic ... and what I mostly like is that the larger tattoo holds a consistent theme rather than being a collage of images:
