No sound

so i just build my new pc;

Crucial 2GB kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Ballistix Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL4 Lifetime Warranty
Western Digital WD2500AAKS Caviar SE 250GB 7200RPM SATAII/300 16MB Cache - OEM
Gigabyte HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 Dual DVI HDTV Out PCI-E Graphics Card
Coolermaster Elite 330 Black Case
CM eXtreme Power 650W PSU
Asus P5Q P45 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6GHz (800MHz) Socket 775 2MB L2 Cache

and its just picking up no sound devices

i dont know if i need a sound card or what because i had a built in one with my old pc

so i really dont know what else to say, any help appreciated

How about trying to install the drivers

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Go to the Control Panel
Open up System
Click the Hardware tab
Open the Device Manager
Maximize everything and if there's any question marks beside the icon then it's probably a driver issue.
