I like Rush. Howie Carr is a character.
Other than his annoying voice, Mark Levin has an interesting show...if you take it in doses. He has a strong grasp of the law and the Constitution (as well as court rulings regarding it). He's mean as hell to the people who call in, though.

you idiots arguing over news. get real. no news is good. bbc even got the russia/georgia thing completely wrong, and thats not a small thing. if o'rly had said what they said, there would have been like 20 threads. so yes spearhead, there is a bias.
I don't know if they were completley wrong. It was more than just the BBC, it was a whole lot of other news sources. It's all of them vs one guy that Kmarion or someone posted about.
but the bbc is held up by some for whatever reason as the holy grail in news, and that is disturbingly wrong.Mek-Stizzle wrote:

The BBC is dreadful. The home of soft-left liberalism and much worse besides. I don't use their product but I still have to pay for it on pain of prison.
I think the BBC aren't as liberal gay as they used to be a few years ago. There aren't many media outlets in this country that are truly non-bias. The newspapers here are total bullshit and a disgrace. Anyone who gets their "news" from Tabloids like The Sun or the Daily Mail needs to be shot.

But the news makes for some laughs.

I agree that there are no media outfits that aren't biased, absolutely. What irritates me about the Beeb is that it really believes that a) it's neutral and b) where it isn't, it's justified, eg. global warming or Pallywood. Plus the fact that I can pick and choose other media based on whether their prejudices broadly agree with mine, but with the BBC I am forced to pay for them to propound their centre-left world view whether I watch it or not.
The BBC are pretty much the only news outlet that give any attention to the plight of Palestinians. I'm sorry Kuffar if they don't present only the Israeli side as you evidently desire.

Oh man, are you serious? You really think the Palestinians are unrepresented in global news media and ignored by the networks? Never mind.
Well if by global news media you mean CNN, Fox News, Sky News, etc. then yes.Kuffar wrote:

No, the Israeli Lobby just thought "oh well, let's give them something to spew their propaganda from, so that we can spew more of ours!"Kuffar wrote:

O'Reilly says shit 10 times worse, practically everyday. Well, maybe thats exagerating a bit. At least once a week.usmarine wrote:

Everyone but his devoted followers knows he a whackjob. Thats why there's no outrage anymore. He's one of the main reasons I think Fox is a joke... I'd respect them much much more if they just fired his ass already.
He's entertaining and there are some pearls of wisdom occasionally. Extremist? Obviously.CameronPoe wrote:

I listen to Air America daily. I was actually in studio with Stephanie Miller years ago.
Randi Rhoads is as extreme as Savage.
This crazy bitch said one day, and I was listening, that the republicans were capable of Taliban style public executions in stadiums.

O'Reilly's program is on Fox News Channel. Doesn't matter if its a talk show or not tbh. Same goes for CNN or MSNBC. I don't care if someone wants to make their point or not, but O'Reilly conduct is nothing short of a joke. If you cannot see how fucking crazy and out of line he is, well, sucks to be you.usmarine wrote:

All networks get stuff wrong all the time. This is the point of this thread. Your earlier post made my point pretty clear...... cherrypicking random bullshit from so-called partisan media sources isn't enough. I'm saying that "the media" is not left wing or right wing biased. Yet right wingers on DST all the time say otherwise. They say "the media" is left wing biased, yet the fact that Fox News is the most watched channel, and other stuff that Kmarion pointed out, says the exact opposite.
I dont even see where BBC comes into this, its a British network, I only get a half hour of it on my TV every night. So they got the Georgia/Russia conflict wrong, so what? You think there was an agenda behind it? Wanna talk about US news agencies in the months before the Iraq war and their blatant failure to act as independent journalists?
I dont need to defend BBC. 1. I'm not British. 2. I dont watch it. You on the other hand feel the need to defend Fox News and O'Reilly. Well, not really defend, more like bash me for bashing them.
They didn't get shit wrong, it was one fucking guy vs plenty of news outlets around the world.
I dont even watch it very often. Wouldnt be surprised though. Every network always has one person who makes them look like idiots.Mek-Stizzle wrote:

Perfect example of his style. I used to catch his show at work, was the only interesting thing on the radio at that timeslot. He is entertaining in his crackpot way, and he does the angry rant shtick like no other.ATG wrote:

I do recall he would slam repubs and democrats both, it wasn't always "damn liberals"
There is a difference between opinion/commentary and NEWS, within one network. Fox News gets their stories from the wire services like everyone else, then they present it. It's how they present the story where the bias can come into it.Spearhead wrote:

The way you portray O'reilly makes me think you don't ever watch it, it isn't as bad as you say -- what are some examples of him being so crazy ?
I don't watch him every night, but the times I have seen him, he does seem to try for some right-left balance (though he is really pompous sometimes)
oh ok. so liberals and dems are all a bunch of cunts because of cry baby keith oberman? would that make msnbc a left bias news outlet to which you claim does not exist?Spearhead wrote:

O'Reillys views are not whats so insane, its his attitude and methods of interviewing people, especially when they do not agree with him.
