So 21CW has opened a new tournament for BF2, this time for SF, technically though they will still be playing custom and base maps, it's just that this version is allowed to use all of the new additions to the game.
If yer not familliar with 21CW tournaments, they're essentially virtual wars. When you sign up you join a division, then you join a company in that division. Each division practices a few times a week then has a 12 hour continuous battle once a week for virtual land control. Every division has litterally hundreds of members who take them game seriously. At the end of the campaign either the coalition or opposition forces are declared winners based on their control of the world map.
They also have a realism mod for the tournies that, imo, make the game a lot more fun, lethal, and seriously encourage teamwork.
