For you PS3 people out there, perhaps you can help me with this one.

I've got my PS3 audio output setup with the optical cable. And while I can play the game in surround sound, DD, whatever it is, all blu ray's play in stereo only. I have everything setup correctly and the correct track selected on the disk, yet, no dolby.

Any thoughts?

What are you using to output the surround sound?  A/V Receiver?  I remember mine had to be setup twice, once for games and the other for movies just the same.

Did you check off all the boxes in the audio setup (of the PS3)?

AV receiver. Only input for optical is the "cd/dvd" mode, but I don't think it's advanced enough to have seperate setups for games/movies. All the PS3 configs are good.

Just odd that I can get dolby from coaxial for tv, optical for games, but no dolby for blu ray through optical.

It's a Kenwood theatre in a box I got for Christmas like 5-7 years ago, so that might be the real problem. I think we're upgrading come income tax return time, so the problem might fix itself that way.
