Saturday: Mowed, put limestone on the yard to reduce acidity.
Sunday: Wake up to this:

Steal the neighbor's grass in the background of the first photo. That's some good-looking grass.

ours looked that green until about a week ago, i don't know what happened.  maybe it's because we don't use any chemical weedkiller or fertilizer.  i think we had frost one night and it shocked the grass or something.

Clearly not if that's how the grass ended out.

Is it really that big of a deal?

he was raking the dead grass away.  yes, it does matter to me, because i put so much fucking work into that yard each weekend and some fucking animal came and shat on my face.

Just checking...did you check the levels before adding the limestone?  And did you use Calcitic or dolomitic limestone?

I just read that if your lawn was already high in magnesium then using dolomitic could cause problems.

yeah, levels were a little acidic, something like 5-6 i think.  as for the limestone i don't know what type.  but we put this all over the lawn (2 acres), and the rest of the lawn wasn't affected.

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Well perhaps your grass is used to acidic ground, and by changing the acidity you made the grass unhappies.

or, since the grass that was ruined is by the road...maybe you need to adjust the amounts you put near the road.  There may be runoff that changes the levels there.
