I plugged in through the silver USB cable (somehow the type of cable is EXTREMELY important) and I tried to install drivers for it but it didn't work and TI Connect and TI Graph Link didn't work.  I just want to put some apps on it.

What do I have to do to get it to work?

TI Connectivity Cable USB for Windows® /Mac® (silver)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Install TI Connect™ software before plugging in your TI Connectivity Cable USB.
You get them on the CD that came with the cable.

Google is not being particularly helpful with this one, perhaps I'm putting in the wrong search stuff though.
