Need a Book that shows Oppression

I need a book for an English ISU (Independant Study Unit).

I'll need to write summary's, maybe an essay, lots of stuff, on this book.

The Book HAS to show oppression.

This project is worth 25% of my english course mark.

The more clearly it shows oppression the better.

So, Suggestions?

Try "Night" by Elie Wiesel. I did that book for my 30 level English diploma exam and I got a hundred on it suprisingly
Its about a Jewish boy who ends up in aushwitz then other concentration camps with his father after his mother and sister were taken away and liquidated by the Nazis. Then it gets really tragic...I won't ruin the rest.

Required reading as a Senior or junior (at the time). Good read

Animal farm is relatively short,I think about 120 pages.Really great book and believe me when I say it;I hate to read books and it needs me about 2 months to read a 200pg book because I find almost every book boring and I never sit down and read one fairly.I "swallowed" Animal farm in two days.

Why does everyone namedrop Animal Farm? It doesn't give you literary kudos. It's a political allegory, not a straight-forward book of oppression. 1984 is a much better example, although still very cliché and is namedropped far too often. Political totalitarianism does not necessarily equal oppression, that is just the tone of Orwell's writing and his own personal view/agenda. You'd be better off reading The Bible, an epic tale of pure oppression at its finest .

Furthermore, why are you getting people to do your English homework over the Internet?
