Just tried Budweiser American Ale and it is very good. Kind of like a Sam Adams with the carmel malt. I recommend it.

Check out sweetwater 420. You'll friggin love it. Or loose cannon. It's just as good, but it will knock you down after a sixer.

*I probably won't rush out and buy a sixer, but if I see one on the menu at a restaurant....

Love it as well. It is the best selling seasonal where I work. The new bud is similar to San Adams. Haven't tried it yet.

i concur. had a sixer the other night, and it is quite delicious. a departure from the norm for budweiser imo.

This is a real rarity, but if you can get one you'll love yourself for it. One of the best beers I've ever had.

This is one of the few Estate brews in the world. As in, all the hops came from one place, not mixed from different locations. Think of it like a really nice estate wine, but not wine. Yea, like that.

It's only released once a year and all of California only got 600 cases. In fact, I'm not even sure it made it out of California. Anyway, really good stuff.

Great thread, I approve.

To be honest anything Budweiser gets an immediate ten point deduction from me. That's not saying that the American Ale is crap, (in fact if it's similar to Sam Adams, (the only American beer I can say that I like,) it should be nice,) it's simply saying that I hate that Budweiser crap so damn much. There's so much fucking rice in it you don't know if you've got a six-pack or a sushi box.

There doesn't seem to be any new releases here at the moment, except with the boutique beers which I can't afford right now. I just keep praying that Macs will bring back their Nelson Reserve. I've never forgiven them for discontinuing that.

At the moment I'm drinking "Taj Mahal" Lager. It was dated incorrectly so there were shit-loads of boxes of it at work so I grabbed seven - cost me $80 - that's for 14 dozen!! It's not a bad drop, strong flavour, pleasant aftertaste and refreshing. However that's not the most important part of course - 14 dozen for $80! Woo!

The Miller "Chill" were also incorrectly dated so there were quite a few boxes of that too. I got one doz for $5 and I'm glad I didn't get any more.

I have been meaning to try it just out of curiosity... but very hesitant to waste the money on a whole 6 pack when I could get something that's NOT made by budwiser instead...
