Runtime error when joining Conquest server

Every time I join a Conquest server i get an runtime error and then my BF2 crashes.
Anyone knows how to solve this?

run in window mode

create a shortcut on your desktop and then

rightclick
properties
change the bit where is says "fullscreen +1" to "fullscreen +0"

(me thinks thats right)

Run BF2 in windowed mode.

Add +fullscreen 0 to the target line of your BF2 shortcut (with a space after the quotes "C:\...\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe")

try deleting the my documents\battlefield 2 folder, (backup your profile if you don't want to lose it) and see what happens then

At the same moment Sumera does. He got the Runtime Error to.

Look, you can REALLY help us by telling us what you've done EXACTLY.

IE reply to each of these:

1. Have you rebooted your computer and tried again.
2. Have you re patched and tried again.
3. Have you downloaded a new patch and tried again.
4. Have you uninstalled, reinstalled and tried again.
5. Have you reinstalled windows and tried again.
6. Have you used a different copy of BF2 and tried again.
7. Have you used a different computer with the same copy and tried again.
8. Have you used a different computer and different copy and tried again.

What are your components? What are the components you share with 'Sumera'. What other problems do you have with this computer? What service pack are you running? What OS are you using?

Do you have the same problem in single player, if so; what exact point do you get the CTD?
Do you have the same problem in a LAN server, if so; what exact point do you get the CTD?

The problem clearly is that your OS doesn't like BF2, please explain in full any other problems you have with this system.

how the fuck can you install bf2 incorrectly, lol, all it asks you is:

1) cd key (hard to get wrong and let the install proceed)
2) where to install it to (unless you install to somewhere REALLY retarded then it will work)
3) EULA for BF2, PB (unfuckupable)
4) Start menu (unfuckupable)
5) DX9 (if you don't have dx9 (which comes with xp) then you might have problems if you click no)
