Going to Florida for Christmas/New Years

Who lives close to either Orlando or Miami?

I'm going to spend Christmas in Florida (between the 17th and the 7th), and I want to know whom I could see

Most of my time will be in Miami - only New Years would be in Orlando (my girlfriend's a huge fan of Disney World...)

Also: feel free to add things I should see

That's anywhere. At MCO we got the "random" security check because my stepmom's a muslim and had a muslim last name before she married my father.

The Palm Beach/Broward/Miami area has a lot to do. Just get any guide/look it up. I can't even begin to list what's down there to do.

our winters are 80-85 highs and 55-65 lows humidity less than 50%. summer is tuff though 90-100 with 100% humidity.

ive been here 30 yrs and only couple times had to have a jacket on for xmas or new years.
usally its shorts and t shirt. cant do that in new england...unless you wanna freeze.

I've been treated well at O'Hare, LaGuardia, Newark, JFK and Albany-Rensellaer but in Miami they emptied my entire suitcase, broke souvenirs, kept me in a room without any explanation for ages and then dumped me outside the transfer area so I had to get an Iberia official to get me back in.

Christ. Some service. I've always been treated well. Some officials have been perhaps tired of their jobs/lives, but nothing out of the ordinary. Got a random check at JFK once and the guy who poked around my suitcase explained that us crazy Finns keep bringing those damn sausages all the time. I started laughing and admitted that some ppl just can't live without their sausage, and told him that I only had a few bottles of booze to my friend. Great guy, helps to be polite and joke around to not make it look like you're under suspicion of anything.

At Disney World, EPCOT usually has the best fireworks, and Disney's MGM Studios has an awesome Christmas light show (think several million lights coordinated with music). The Magic Kingdom has a really good fireworks show, but it is usually really crowded (especially around Christmas).

My parent's work there, so let me see if I can get any insider info on the best Christmas plans...
