No reason to use bmp over png unless the files are fucking big which would mean lots of compression time to png.

There is no image quality gain from png to bmp.

Jpeg then again... Sucks.

One thing .bmp is better-when using .png for wallpaper icon text isn't transparent-it has a blue canvas.

That is true. Microsoft has always failed in making their products compatible with png. Just like IE7 messes up the colours of png
