The sooner you speak to your mortgage provider, the more likely it is they can actually help.  People seem to have this idea that there all nasty fuckers, and, sure, profit is motivation, and there are twats around, but you will find that these people understand that it is someones home, and there family, not just a number, and they will help you.  If they can.  The sooner, certainly is, the better.

It really comes down to priorities.  Mortgage is key tbh.  Credit card companies tend to cause the most noise, but, not paying them wont result in you loosing your house.  Mortgage is different.  Economise the essentials (food, electricity, and gas), and put what you can into the mortgage.

As has been said, seek quality advice.

And is why I recommend your parents talk to someone qualified to help them, Elite - if the provision is any good in your part of the country (dontcha just love postcode-funding), they should go the Citizens Advice Bureau - they'll need to see all your parents finances, bills, etc, etc, but basically, they'll advise your parents on how to proceed - they may even offer to do all the negotiating between your parents, their bank(s), the energy/fuel companies and so on - would take a lot of the stress away from you and your parents.
Thanks for the advice.

But im going to do it on my own, i can shore up their finances so im doing that, with my help everything will be back in the green in a couple of months

Good man.

But don't get yourself into financial trouble by doing so. That will not help your parents and I can virtually guarantee that they would not want you to.

Elite, good luck mate, dunno how old you are but my parents hit massive financial difficulties when I was 10. It was only when I was around 13-14 that things really started to look up. Didn't hit me then but knowing now what Dad went through thanks to an insurance company failing him, I thank my lucky stars I had it so good.

Of course when you are ten, it's your birthday, you got a kickass new set of toy cars and there's been no milk and very little jam in the house for a month.... Well you don't put two and two together.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

In the "rich western societies" it's damn easy to become poor. Just a few mistakes and You're poor. It takes years to recover.

And it's different elsewhere how?

Everything is so expensive so You borrow the money which is risky.

Like this:
Booming economy: You have a good job, loan to buy a new car and a nice house to start a family maybe.
then suddenly
recession: You loose You job, have to sell the house with a huge loss and also the car with loss.
suddenly You've lost 50.000$ and it's NOT Your fault.

In these times some of the richest companies (the banks) in the "rich western world" go bankrupt.
A refugee from Somalia may only have a few dollars but he also have no dept. So he's richer than the guy above.

Like that.
