"Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8."

In 30 years time we'll perhaps look back on this time as we do the now with the 1950s and the civil rights movement. Until then, get all of the gay jokes out now if have the urge to say them.

Facepalm at the title of this thread.

It should read as "I've always said apple were gay...."

Your using the past tense "was" when clearly apple were and still are very much gay.

They just suck that hard.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I dont see the problem with same sex marriages.
I have no problem with gay peple wanting to be together, I jus dont like it when they try to stick their sexuality down my throat! (literally)
Seriously tho, do we have 'straight pride day'. No, so why does there need to be a 'gay pride day'
But back on topic, why shouldnt apple back it, I'm all for gay people having the same marital rights as straight people

Because gay people are gay for publicity, and so they can complain and get money when you try to ignore them.

Have you seen the commercials FOR this proposition?  It seems like their whole argument is that "it will be taught in schools".  What the fuck?  They are going to teach you to be gay in school?  They are going to teach gay marriage in school?  What kind of schools are these people talking about where they teach you about marriage or how to be hetero?  It is absolutely laughable.

Religious zealots don't want gays to marry because of some bizzare notion that kids will learn how to be gay in school, yet they want Creationism taught in science class.

Well I guess by looking at the number of Ipods sold in the world and the number of macs sold in the world kinda shows that Apple DOES NOT SUCK THAT HARD.

Sometime after 2000 there was a vote that defined marriage as the union between two people of the opposite sex (i.e. a man and a woman)
The vote passed by 61% or a little more of the voting public.
With in a year four (4) California supreme court judges in San Fransisco reversed the vote. Four people out of the 4,000,000 other people that voted against same sex marriage over turned the vote.
What about those rights? No offense but a vote is a vote, if it had been that the majority voted for same sex marriage then that would have been the last heard of it. No one but maybe a handful of people would have complained and vote over. Not in this case, its been pushed and slammed as how unfair it is and no there's not going to be classes in school. In fact this is not a true statement as it has not been passed or over-turned.
In a few states that it has been passed kindergarten students, children of 5 years old have been sent home with information about same sex families and promoting it as just another part of education. When parents complained because or religious or moral feelings these parents have been thrown in jail for obstruction of justice (e.i. wanting to opt out of the lesions for their children) frankly a five year old is just to young to learn about sex period, straight or gay.
If passed a pastor that refuses to marry a same sex couple can be arrested and cost the church its non-profit tax exempt status.
With one vote the straight family or person will lose the right to freedom of speech and  the freedom of religion.
Don't get me wrong, I feel there should be a civil union better then what we have for all couples that include insurance over each other and inheritance. After all this is what they are truly asking for.

Prop 22 passed.
In a California Supreme Court ruling, judges voted that Prop 22 was unconstitutional, ruling
that the California legislative and initiative measures limiting marriage to opposite-sex couples violate the state constitutional rights of same-sex couples and may not be used to preclude same-sex couples from marrying

Did your imaginary friend tell you that?  Anecdotal stories =/= truth
Prop 8 is at the very least a recognition by Prop 22 backers that Prop 22 was unconstitutional.  At least get your facts straight and lose the scare-tactics if you want to talk about this rationally.
