Dear god, my grammer were real bad then!me]perhaps the reason why they couldn't release the mod is that they don't have the license to use the mechs from the mechwarrior series which were great games, i.e the mech that is shown in the pictures the 3rd picture down that mech is called the Madcat i'm pretty sure of either that or its the mad cat but either way that mech has been changed in no way from the originial mechwarrior series. so maybe one reason why they can't continue the mod is that they don't have the license. though i do agree that with 2142 coming out they would think it a huge waste of money to allow that mod to come out.
Thankfully it has improved in the two years I've existed here.

Playing on SF is getting frustrating each time I play a kit I'm awarded the basic combat medals, etc.

I was uber pc noob, tbh.My friend's BF2 is not installing. It installed and worked fine at first, and he played for a bit in singleplayer. Then he tried to install the patch and it was going slow and he was impatient, and ended up installing it like 3 times or something and messed his game up. So he un-installed and tried to re-install the game, but now it has errors saying there is an error loading some files. One is common_client.zip, I think one is font_something.zip, etc. It asks you if you want to retry, and if you hit no it continues to install, but when you try to start the game the screen goes blank and does nothing.
We have tried restoring to an earlier date, nothin, deleted BF2 and patch numerous times, deleted the folder in My Documents, nothing is working. We even tried my discs to see if maybe his were damaged, and it had the same errors.
The only thing we can think of is to format his harddrive, but that would be a real PITA right now because someone his mom knows built the computer, and never gave him the discs for drivers and so on.
His computer is an Intel Pentium 4 3.66GHz with 1024mb of RAM, GeForce 4 fx6600 256mb video card is all I know from the top of my head.

(that PC he had sucked ass btw, in hindsight.)
EDIT: Oh and about the BF2 knife badge above: I'm still one of the few proud owners of the 18 knifes in a round badge.

I think there should be a change to the crosshairs ESPECIALLY on the Sniper unlock. That rifle is top-of-the-line power, accuracy and range. Thing is, you can't hit anyone long distance unless they're the elephant man because you CAN'T SEE WHERE YOU PUT YOUR BULLET! There needs to be a dot, or a thin line where you can confidently hit those hand-of-god type shots. Even cooler would be an option for the sniper to chose what type of scope and crosshair they had - customisation, but I'm not holding out for that.

Seriously though, I unlocked the sniper first, and back when BF2 was first released it was a LONG time between new unlocks so you had to choose wisely. Well what a piece of shit; a waste of a first unlock, and ever since I gave up on sniper. DC M95 people used to hunt everywhere on the map just waiting for the guns to respawn they were so tight. Honestly, I felt so shafted.
Practice is the only way to master bullet drop*, in any position it's accurate, just stay zoomed for a bit, wait till they stop moving. The last thing you want to do is shoot and miss.
I'm sniper almost exclusively, and I can tell you the M95 is not a waste. All you need to do is learn how to use it.
I thought it was a waste, and then I got some friends to write up a few tips and you realize why people use the M95.
I've landed 500+ Meter shots. One to judge distance and the other to plant it in him.
I like its capability to shoot through glass. One time on a carrier an MEC guy was trying to steal a jet and I'm thinking...no.
Crouched (look mom! no prone needed!) for a second or two scoped in on his head, as soon as the engine started to rev I shot one off and landed him in the skull.
Wanna do that with your M24?
It's practice. Why do we unlock the new guns? To get better guns. Those better guns need to be used differently, but the m95 is incredibly strong when you know how to use it.
