Limit my bandwidth please!

Hi Guys,

Baiscly I don't know much about networking but I need to know how I can limit how much bandwidth my younger brother PC is using as its dragging mine down. We both connect to a belkin rhouter but i don't have a clue what settings to mess with.
Any advise would be great!

Hes 11 and doesnt understand the consept of sharing. I have just threatened that if he don't stop it I wont pay for the net any more as I don't get to use it or will just run it to my PC only

See if your router supports QoS, although unlikely.

If it doesnt, you have 2 options....

Setup another computer as the default gateway on your network, and restrict the bandwidth from there
Setup a program on his PC which throttles the bandwidth.

My sister does the same thing with MySpace/Facebook/YouTube

and whenever me or my brother tell her to close them because she makes us lag, she does close it and then she opens them right back up again when we go back downstairs.

And my dad wants me to give her her own computer(my old HP Pavilion that I used to talk about here). FUCK THAT

Setup the router in your room and if they rape your bandwidth for more than a minute yank out their ethernet cable until you're done gaming

that's how I got my sister to stop downloading when I'm playing.
