So, my satalite box (TV Channels) is set to output 720p. This has worked fine for as long as I have had it.

Suddenly, yesterday, the image was bigger than the screen (couldn't see half the CNN logo, etc), and my TV says it's displaying 750p.

Help? I've been going through the TV's settings forever, and can't find anything. The Satalite box has two options: 720p and "non-HD", so it's at 720p.

The TV is a Pioneer Plasma.

Thanks.

Check the aspect ratio on the TV and box. 750p is 16:10 instead of 16:9.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

check your remote for the tv too, sometimes there is a zoom feature... quite useless imo

yes, this is indeed the problem. The box is locked at 16:9, but the TV seems to be at 16:10, and I can't find a way to change it

Just scrounge around in the settings, they hide these things well. Check the manual.

really, check your remote for picture settings.  mine has a few different modes, which are normal, wide, and zoom.  normal is 4:3, wide is 16:9, and zoom is retarded.  it zooms in on the wide setting.  i bet that's your problem.

the zoom button only has "Wide" and "Full". It used to have a lot more before I installed the sat box.

make sure it's set to control the tv function and not the sat box

yeah, I haven't programed any of the remotes (too lazy), so I have 5 seperate remotes (TV, sat, DVD, Sound, HDMI switch)

its weird that you mentioned it had more modes until you installed the sat box... maybe it got fucked up somehow, and stuck on one of the other settings.  would it be hard to disconnect the sat box and mess with the tv modes?
