I was talking with a co-worker and mentioned that I have just filled my third 500GB external HD and she could not believe it.

I do remember years ago going with my grandfather to buy a computer and it had a 20GB hard drive and the guy selling us the system kept saying how 20GB was a massive amount of space and how we would never be able to fill it up. I just loled to myself and guessed he didnt know about mp3s and avi files

I just wanted to find out how much HDD space you guys have and then how much of that space is actually being used.

I plan on buying external 500GB drives one at a time as I fill them up because I have heard bad things about the TB drives, external and internal.

I have about 1.5TB of data on my drives and then prolly about 1TB of stuff on DVDs as a back up, I like to keep two copies of everything just in case.

I am having some issues with a 1.5 TB seagate that i have, I have it as an esata connection, and it periodically locks up, but being external I just turn it off then on again and away I go.  The 1 TB drive I have is a samsung, and have had no problems with it yet.  the seagate 750gb I have is probably my favorite, it really seems to give me great performace, but again it is an esata connection, not a boot drive or anything.  I need a NAS with esata connection and I'd be happy.  USB2 and hardrive =FAIL once you have used esata

200GB lappy - 56GB free
160GB gaming - 23GB free
20GB folder - 16GB free
200GB media computer - 188GB free

Total space - 580GB
Used space - 297GB

And one 2.5" 80GB SATA HD that I'm not really using for anything. And about 10 5-40GB drives just lying around
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I know, I know.

Some of that music is really hard to find in higher quality. And it's kinda that kind of music that doesn't benefit from high quality.

132 free, ~232 total.

Make that 141 free. I just deleted all but the most recent restore point and I free'd up 9GB.

I am a media whore, I want to own all the movies I wanna see and all the music I can get, even stuff I dont normally like just so I have it in my library not to mention all the TV shows I have the whole series of a lot of shows.

I will prolly never even watch tme but I like having them, like a collector.

1TB, but I only have 750GB installed atm (other HDD is fucking loud).

Looking to get a 1TB drive to replace my 250GB drive later this month (I have 500+250 atm, and the 250 is fucking loud and slow ), so I'll have 1.5TB.

I have a 320GB external HD filled up, a 74GB Raptor on my PC with about 15GB being used, and a 160GB HD on my laptop with about 40GB being used. That equals about 360GB total.
