Mackem = from Sunderland (typically supports Sunderland AFC)

Geordie = from Newcastle (typically supports Newcastle FC)

The accents are slightly different but I'd only expect a native to be able to tell the difference.

I live smack bang in the middle, support Sunderland but have a Geordie accent. So I'm some kinda half breed mongrel.
