You should just buy a Hybrid car and take its batteries.
Good idea, I'll go ask on the golf club.CrazeD wrote:

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
And that is what we call a poor investment.CrazeD wrote:

Well the batteries cost as much as the car does, so might as well just buy the car.Defiance wrote:

Today, I made a find. A very good find, too.
At the bus stop, I noticed a couple of awesome batteries inside the doors of an office building. I took a peek at them, and they looked in need of some care a'la Freezer. Being the opportunist that I am, I went inside to ask if they were trash. I got the reply no, but I could buy them if I wanted to. He explained that they had only used them for testing the emergency lighting. We took a look at them, and I made an offer of 65€ for both, which he gladly accepted, and thanked me for getting rid of them.
Sucker.
The warranty stickers were filed in December 07, so they're just about a year old, and after measuring them, I found out that they had been stored well, and are in prime condition. I checked with the local reseller for that brand, and they cost 80€ new. A piece.
They're about the same capacity as my main UPS batteries; 60Ah.
Now to come up with some actual use for them

Freezer, I believe you're becoming addicted to batteries. Surely there comes a time and place where man wonders if he has enough batteries already
All that money spent on buying batteries etc.. for your UPS, as if you live in some sort of capital wasteland, could've been better spent on upgrading your PC, or booze

either the power grid is a total failure in the Åland or there has been a thermonuclear war and I missed the party or what do you need those batteries for?Freezer7Pro wrote:
