Those are dynamic contrast ratios, meaning that the screen brightness level changes depending what's displayed. IMO it makes it look bad so you should look at the static contrast ratio. 700:1 on lg and 1000:1 on samsung and higher is better.
And the difference is that if you look at a gradient for example you see less "steps" the higher it is. So you get 1000 shades of gray vs. 700 shades

Samsung is best here. It's an amazing screen ( I have it ). Only thing it doesn't display so crisply is its blues... but you can adjust that anyway.tupla_s wrote:

The contrast also helps with blacks and whites and the depth that your eyes perceive on the screen. The samsung, in this case, wins hands down.
Thanks, you changed that three times! Now I understandtupla_s wrote:

Don't you have the 22" Pebble Zimmer, not the 20?
There is absolutely no difference, unless you want your screen to be slightly stretched.Kurazoo wrote:

20" is native 1680x1050, 22" is not. Both screens have the EXACT same resolution. The 20" is the one to go for.
Yeah it's an annoying problem of mine. Always have to edit a lot when explaining something. Tend to write slower than I think or think slower than I write and then translate thinking to English so the result is a major cluster f*Kurazoo wrote:

Probably should learn to wait a while before submitting my posts.
