Put it this way, building a new computer would seem pointless for my dad seeing as I already have a comp. I just want to upgrade, I'd say between $100-300, not sure. Also, the video card will just be added to my Christmas list btw guys. It is only 1 month away after all.

And really. A system that old, you will not be able to upgrade it to anything even near decent by today's standards. If I were you I'd ebay that thing for $100 (If someone would pay that high) and build a new one from scratch.

If you get a pwnsor GPU, gaming performance will be seriously limited by your CPU... If you get a pwnsor CPU (well, with the mobo Im sure you have, you cant get a very good CPU) then your gaming performance will be seriously limited by your CPU.
