I want to unload my old desktop (Mediocre thing, AMD X2 4800+, 250GB HDD, 3GB Ram, 8400GS).

Anyone had any particularly successful sites for selling old PCs? The machine itself is pretty worthless but I want to get a few pennies out of it nonetheless to go towards a new tower.

I was thinking Ebay or such.. but then again it's not that great. Any other sites I could try?

eBay.

No, really. Make sure you advertise it as 2x2.5GHz=5GHz!!!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

That. Also put in a huge HDD. People love it because they can actually figure out what it means
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Haha I'll give it a try. If it doesn't work I'll blame you.

is that amd dual core a socket 939???

if so sell that on its own on Ebay, 939 dual cores go for crazy prices (£120+) on Ebay, see for yourself

i would say sell the parts separately, but keep the HDD, 250Gb is a good size to have as a second drive

Wow, why are they so popular? May have to rethink my strategy.

They're hard to find.
