So, next week is Thanksgiving. Kaos will be home from VA Tech (last year he marched in the Macy's T-Giving Day Parade). But this year, there is no joy for me. My Mom passed away last October (2007), my Dad's been gone since 2000 as well as grand-dad. KaosMom's parents are 10 and four years gone now. Neither of her sisters can afford to come to VA.

Last year we went to Charlotte do be with her clan and spent a miserable Christmas in Oconee, GA, with KaosMom's crazy-assed friend so I didn't have time to dwell on the fact that the whole parental structure is gone. But this year, it's just the four of us (KaosGirl too) and the cats.

So, WTF? No little kids waiting for Santa. No Grammas making pies in the kitchen. Hell, all of our friends have already made plans so we can't even bogarts someone else's family.

This SERIOUSLY sux. Geeze - if you've still got your family, enjoy them! Sadly, they're not permanent. I guess that's the point. And I just needed to vent. Thanks - back to lurking and snickering at y'all's hijinx.

Maybe not, but it's annoying reading things like that. Why can't he just be simple/normal and say son/daughter/wife/me etc.. I mean sometimes people just piss me off

Especially when he is trying to get some sort of serious point across, he ends up still going along with his Kaos gimmick, you can't take someone like that seriously.

Sorry dude. I kinda reverted to "way back when." See, my son's BF2 name is Kaos008, so when he talked me into getting BF2, well, the choice was simple. I referred to the Mrs. as "Her Majisty" until somone in here asked; "Wait - isn't she KaosMom" and it kinda got out of hand from there.....

So, you know, no flames, no offense taken, it's all good - that's what we are here for, right? Getting folks thru such things as life, death, girls, guys, anal worms & Viagra. And the occasional freaky election. Oh, and that crud between toes. We all need to get past that.

Good luck KaosFamily. Theres always us to talk to on holiday ( although we dont do Thanksgiving down here....hundreds of Turkeys breathe sigh of relief). Eventually your kids will have kids and your family unit will be back again. All the best. Maybe do charity work on the holiday?

PS I dig the whole Kaos mum / Dad thing. Keep it up.

Sorry to hear what your going through Kaos. This is the 3rd xmas without my Mum and it looks awful until I go down a level and think of My Daughter. I have to do xmas for her, this time the 1st time in my life that I wont have her with me as we have split up. Xmas looks shitty right now.

My new gf dont want me at hers xmas eve incase I confuse her kid, while all along I have to do xmas for my kid. Her Mum may not even let me see her unless its within a given time slot so xmas day might be cancelled till boxing day and as soon as she opens her prezzies its over.

Its hard Kaos but take it from someone who has Xmas without his Mum and now the kids. Its just 24 long hours that only come around once a year so do Xmas for the kids as you'll know they grow up way to fast, mine still believes in Santa; and so she should.

I'm in Reston and i'll drink some beers with you...lol... you have 2 great kids... not much reason to complain really... I always get bummed out when i think about people that spend holidays alone... Happy Thanksgiving everyone...
I have an amazing family and after a big dinner... i will be online late Thursday night for all who don't have a great family or who are alone... peace....
