I'm a novice at bulding computers or even upgrading them, this is my first attempt. Now I expect there to be a power input right about there but it seems to have wandered off. Either this is a layout I'm unfamilliar with, (which I'm prefectly willing to accept given the fact that my SATA Burner also got me scratching my head,) or something gone done an' broke orf.

Looks like a hole for a similar model.

I don't see anything missing, your SATA power is on the far left.

Your hard drive only has a SATA power connector instead of an and/or situation with a molex power connector.

That. BTW, anyone know if theres any advantage to using a SATA connector instead of a 4 pin molex if your HDD has both? (aside from freeing a molex connector)

not 100% sure, but afaik, power is power, use whatever's free or easier to manage when running cables.

Just DO NOT plug in both.

That space looks to be for a Molex style connector from older models, my HD has both, but if you plug both in, your HD dies, so I assume on newer models they got rid of the plug, but couldn't spare the ~$5000 to get new dies/molds/circuit boards made up.

Yeah yeah, woked it out now, all is peachy. The way I learned was with a Molex style hard drive so yeah, had a bit of a brain fart when everything wasn't as I expected.

Sorted now, PC's on and humming, attempting to install Vista at the mo'. Cheers for the assist.
