Am not so sure I like the long nose on these cars, makes them look pinched.  Then again so long as it's fast.  I wish they would allow new V12 engines, that would ZOMG RAEP.
There's a current freeze on manufacturers making brand new engines until 2013 or some shit like that. I also read they might bring back turbochargers as it would fit in with the "green" policy that F1 is going down. You know, using the waste energy from the exhaust and making it useful etc..

Turbo's in F1.....oh man, fuckin-a to that. They banned it in the season I was born

Sounds about right.  I also read that the cars where essentially becoming too fast for the tracks.  I believe it's the 2004 cars which recorded a lot of the F1 records.

That and the rain, I've been in single seaters on wet tracks and you can barely go at anything more than a crawl.  Its like ice, especially now that there is no TC.

McLaren unveiled the new MP4-24 at their Woking headquarters on Friday, vowing to once again claim the World title.

The team's 2009 challenger, which was on display at the McLaren Technology Centre, features the new aerodynamic package that is governed by the new regulations.

This includeds a low, wide front wing and a short, high rear design. KERS, the Kinetic Engergy Recovery System, has also been fitted to the MP4-25.

Speaking at the launch McLaren team boss Ron Dennis conceded that the new regulations meant even more work had to be put into the design of the car.

"Of course it is the same for every team so we can't say the challenges are any less demanding for the competitors," he said.

"Extensive rule changes require extensive amount of work - these are the biggest rules changes we have seen in 15 years.

"That requires the technologists in our organisation, they are not just engineers but scientist with high qualifications, to go back to a plain piece of paper and conceptualising what the fundamental requirement are for the regulations.

"It is there you can get it wrong because if you get it wrong no amount of development can sort it out. What you see in the MP4-24 is a car correctly conceptualised.

"At the same time you are trying to make a good looking car, that is a value we put high, if it looks good it goes good, so what you see is a tremendous outcome from a lot of people, it is a credit from not just the technologists but the other people, this is a fully running car that can run on a circuit tomorrow.

"But this is a second car, the first is already at Portugal, so we feel we are in a good position to attack the time up to the first grand prix. It will be a critical time because it will set the baseline for the rest of the season."

Only cos of their ING sponsor making them look kinda gay, they should go back to blue-yellow. The Williams, I want to see more pics of that. The back of the car looks very open, much more than the other cars. It's like there's nothing covering the exhaust or even the entire engine itself

I like that fat nose on the Renault, makes it look more unique, plus even more old skool

Here's an article on it:

So far, the Renault is the most different. The massive fin at the back, and the wide front nose. At least they're trying something else

Mek, just wait until the BMW car is unveiled tomorrow. Did you see the Interim car during testing? It was like there were shoeboxes on either side of the front wing
