I've been contemplating on whether or not to buy Fraps. Sure, the free version is nice, but I can't just take these 30 seconds clips. So, before I do, I was wondering if anyone knew any GOOD free In-Game video capture programs I can either buy, download for free, or whatever.

You don't necessarily have to "buy" fraps for the full version though. Have you looked?

Fraps is Fraps. If you're into recording and want good output, Fraps will do the trick. Is it worth money? Of course not, it's a screen capture and screenshot tool, it's basic and doesn't have a plethora of options.

So, If I were you, I'd go for either the open source version or "acquiring" it. I did the latter option, however I don't really record much.

Sounds like a codec thing, download the AVI Codec Pack or something and that should solve your issues..
