My brother bought Fallout 3 recently and we played it on both of our computers. But this seems odd to me:
He has these specs:
nVidia GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit w/ 64 Stream Processors
Intel E8400 running @ stock speeds
2GB of 800MHz DDR2 from G.SKILL
160GB Western Digital Caviar RE2(RAID Edition) hard drive on SATA w/ 16MB of cache
Some kinda of P35 motherboard
He is running on a fresh installation of XP Pro SP2
His computer was built in like September
I have:
nVidia GeForce 8600GT 512MB 128-bit w/ 32 Stream Processors (I think)
3.2GHz Pentium 4 540
4GB of 400MHz DDR2 from Kingston
160GB Western Digital Caviar on IDE w/ 8MB of cache
Some crappy Dell OEM motherboard
I am running on an installation of XP Pro SP3 that I've had since June or July
My computer was built in like 2004 or 2005 or something and has been upgraded a lot
I can play Fallout 3 on very high settings with very little choppiness and he can only play on medium with noticeable choppiness.
So does the extra 2GB of RAM I have really make THAT much difference or could it be something else?
