Well who flies with the mouse and KB? Do u guys find it harder to break away from enemy jets and harder to chase them down? I suspect a lot of people have been purchasing joysticks and i find it hard to break away from their view.

not me, the only problem i have with Mous and KB is that i cant throttle down a little bit to bomb or givin my Gunner (in case of bomer plane) the opertunity to use his LGM

in dogfight i prefer to use the mouse caus you can move it quiker then a joystick and u can make any movement with it.

I fly with 1.7 sens when i am flying the aircraft though. I just cant seem to find them after they make the loop.

I fly with mouse and KB all the time. I have pretty nice aviator-stats, it´s supreme for dogfight and I CAN throttle down for bombing runs. I CAN even land any jet correctly on the runway... Practice is all you need.

I can only blast infantry out of the ground , land a plane but i just cant chase enemy jets down unless they are so dumb to fly straight. Well any tips to chase em down and evade them?

I'm using mouse and keyboard and i do find it hard to break away from enemy fighters, how ever i bought a joystick thinking I could get away better but after 50 hours flying with mouse+KB I find it hard to adjust to the different style of flying.

I apologize for any bad spelling.

kb+mouse here too
had many ppl in game thinking i used joystick
i dont see why ppl think that's easier
I bought one and sucked with it

[ is throttle up
] throttle down
, to move left
. to move right
<-  and -> to spin plane
\/ and /\ to do quick up/down adjustments
and mouse to refine direction

works great for me

normal keyboard (wireless)
and a wireless optical mouse, MX700

Ayumiz: Seems like your set up is the same as mine. Saitek (with the blue light). I only use 1600 when I'm pursuing or evading. Bombing requires the stability. I had a flightstick, but I only use it for choppers.

Planes require the... Agility a mouse offers. Joystickers have the slight advantage of a sustained turn/loop etc. I'm sure as hell not going to follow some jackass through 4 consecutive loops. I have no problem losing enemy jets though. Just pull every trick in the book: either MAP tricks or FLIGHT tricks. what do i mean now.

Flight tricks are done open air. Half loop followed by 180 degrees twist and corkscrew away. Not many pilots joystick or other wise is going to follow you. They simply CAN'T. Or two reverse loops (making an S upwards, nosedive down and pull left or right).

Map tricks are tricks that are exclusive to the map. Like the kubra tunnel under lower dam. Don't confuse map tricks with stunts. Most stunts serve no purpose. For example. There's no point in flying under the bridge of wake or Dragon Valley. The pursuer is just going to fly safely OVER and continue the pursue. But the tunnel at the bottom of the Lower Dam? The pursuer is FORCED to follow you through the tunnel, or pull up very very very sharply and risk smacking face first in the dam. My favour is going through the low valley, under the bridge, through the white pillars and through the tunnel. It takes balls to follow that .

Anyways. Tips about pursuing Pilots. People are habitual creatures. They tend to do the same things FIRST. Fine, everyone can start doing totally random stuff, go up, dive low, twist left and right, corkscrew around. BUT, on engagement many pilots have a 1st Action Procedure. For some its a loop. Others its a hard twist left or right (Left OR Right ) Never both. The trick is to make the pilot pay for this. Once I notice a pilot's habits enough, i punish him for doing the same thing whenever we engage.

Pilot likes to pull up for a loop? I lock on and start pulling up first so i get about 1 second of MG fire into his vertical body displayed in front of my HUD and a missile up his tailpipes as i follow him through that. Pilot likes pulling left or right? I come from above and twist so they fly straight into a hail of MG bullets and a missile for their troubles.

But these are not the best pilots. THese are pilots that only react when they see tracers start flying past, or when they hear the alarm of a lock. The best pilots check their six constantly. Once they see you twisting in to start the attack run, they began evasive actions. Which makes it fucking hard to chase them down. Again, your best bet is getting their habits down pat. I was once against this insanely good pilot who would chase me through EVERYTHING on cleansweep, i was forced to fly @ 700 and only come down to bomb and rearm just to avoid him. So i changed over to flying really really low and blindsiding him from underneath.

Use your common sense too. Don't chase a J10 with an F15. The J10's going to run, and come back for your ass. Most pilots would rather avoid a dogfight altogether and get points on the ground. Don't trouble trouble unless trouble troubles you. Unless the opponent is supremely skilled in the bomber with a fantastic WSO and is decimating your entire team, you should be doing the same to theirs.

Dogfights are detrimental to ponts Me and [Bf.Nut]Posuer or [Bf.Nut]Lime once spent 20 minutes chasing each other around cleansweep. Ended with a beautiful 0 points each.

I fly with them.  The only problem I have is lag and it's not from the mouse.

Mouse and kb all the way. for the choppers and the planes. if dogfighting i switch from mouse to just keyboard. if bombing landing or anything else its mouse, but for the choppers the mouse its great cause you can roll the bh around buildings and stuff.

Mouse - Microsoft explorer modded
Keyboard -  logitech elite.

i want the new logitech g7 mouse and g15 keyboard.

I fly with a mouse and keyboard, and if im in a dogfight and being chased i use the arrow keys for quicker turning but besides that i use the mouse and i can bomb as good as any other person with a joystick, i personaly chose a mouse and keyboard over a joystick any day, but thats just me

Mouse and Keyboard always for me , I have a Logitech mx 900 and it works very well.

I also bought a saiteck cyborg evo pro , but only dogfights go well , but bombing ground target, doesnt work for me , so I stick with mouse and keyboard with a KDR of atleast 20:1 all the time , rarely get shot down , most of times i die by teammate that flies into you, you get a teamkill and he punishes you aswell.

Im prolly 1 of the few that checks his back more often than his front view

Thats what ruins it really...but yeah cant all have a 100 to 1 score

i used a mouse till the beging of jan cause i didnt know how to config my joystick(thts why i have like 80 hrs and only around 4000 kills in jet). once i figured it out it was all over for other pilots. i have seen some people tht use the mouse/kb and are damb good. i guess its all about you and what you like

Mouse and keyboard all the way. No fancy shit, just default controls. I don't find it that hard to fly or evade enemy planes. If the enemy pilot is good enough I'm sure they're able to shoot me down, but most of the time I wind up behind them and shoot them down. All my flying skills come from Battlefield 1942. Coral Sea 24/7 FTW!
