Soccer has gone to shit. It's all fair and nice if you support your local team that has players for that area but nowadays all players come from some foreign country and the teams don't have anything to do with their town. It's just about which team has the most money so that they can buy the best players.

Now this Max is a very valid point.

I can talk to you about 'my' team.

Cardiff City FC (I think I might of mentioned them here once before )

We have to sell a lot of our 'young boys' (in a diff way to what they do in Thailand mind you) just to keep out team going.  We sold Aaron Ramsey to Gooners Arsenal last year for £5m and will soon sell Joe Ledley for £6m (I reckon).  Until we could put more 'Young Boys' in the team we would have just about every nationality going except Welsh, when lets remember here, we are the Number 1 team in Wales.

We have Yanks, Scots, English, Some French African place I can't even pronounce but is probably riddeld with disease, Irish, just to name a few.

On Football manager you still need two home grown players from your own country to play in Europe (08, or the rule is very close) and this is the way it should be.

I'm all for our league being full of foreginers (remember my teams Welsh playing in the English set up, so I'd be a cheeky cunt if I felt otherwise ) but what happens is it weakens the national team.  That why the Bundersliga (sp) is full of Germans and the Seria is full of Aye Ties.  Both those countries are shit hot at the game and thats probably why.  Can they win the Champions League though?? Like fuck can they eh?

Coming from an arsenal fan? Irony of the highest order.

Try fielding more than 1 English player, and then come back to me with an insult about home grown players. 4 of our starting 11 are English players, and they are 4 players that get a place in the England team as well, which in fact means chelsea are currently the best contributors to the English set up......so no.....who cares how much we pay them, at least they're English.

No. 1 is my number, I used to goal keep as well.

That's still sad. And even then not all of those 4 are from London.

Go around all the big teams in all the countries and home town boys don't play for home town teams, thank god, can you imagine how boring it would become all of a sudden.  We would struggle (Cardiff) as they are all into that gharstly hobby ' egg chasing' down yur butt.
