How do i make an external hard drive?

Alright... I've got two spare IDE hard drives laying around and one is 40 gig and another is 20 gigs.

40gig = Seagate Model ST340810A
20gig = Unidentifiable 20gig

What do i need to make these external hard drives for music and pictures?

you plug in the sata and power leads into the drive, stick it inside the box, connect the AC and USB leads to the outside bit, flick the switch, and you've got an external hard drive, and you can easily change the drive that's in it.

edit: oh you mean IDE, k well get one that's like that, but for IDE

Just buy an IDE enclosure and put the disk in it.
