This vid represents the hay-day of the Eagles. I have this album...it's one of the best albums in my collection ( I have literally hundreds), and even now it's one of my favorites. I regularly cycle it in my car CD changer...

This is the song to put on as ya doing ya make up before you go out pulling women on the weekend. Just perfect as you splash the 'Old Spice' on. I love this song but only the Eagles versions, not Bob Marley's version and I loves Bob I do.

I love the Eagles. One of the greatest bands of all time. I saw them when they were touring with the Hell Freezes Over tour. Was absolutely awesome.
For me the song is over played. They have great harmonies. It sounds good as a solo piece on a twelve string but I prefer the bass line.
There are a lot of musicians on this site, perhaps we should have a contest, post videos of ourselves playing the song on an instrument, solo and let the mob vote on it.

I don't know the exact story but there were a lot of New Age cults in the Joshua Tree and surrounding areas. I wouldn't doubt that the story has its roots in freaky deaky hippy shit that may have happened there, at the Hotel before it was burned. This is a cult compound that exists today.
