I am Canadian

After years of contemplating I have finally decided I am going Infantry for the Canadian Armed Forces. A couple weeks ago I sent my application in and wrote the test CFAT (Canadian Forces Apptidude Test) and now just waiting for the call to do my medical, physical and interview. This is probably the greatest decision of my life. I am very nervous and scared shitless for what is about to come of my future but overall I am excited. I am currently a plumber and only have 6 months till I get my journeyman ticket which is good because I have about 8 months till I go to basic training. I am sick of the day to day job and want some excitment.

I just wanted to share this with everyone (most of you wont give a shit but dont rain on my parade please) because I am very excited. Anyone in the forces or applying for the forces who has any stories to share?

Have fun, get promoted quick. Consider different training though, you could use this as a ticket to learn engineering, medicine, communications, god knows what.

Infantry in the Canadian forces? You won't be doing much...

Just kidding...good luck and godspeed.

Enlisting in the US Air Force in 6-8 months, although I might go to college first. Haven't made up my mind yet and it'll probably be one of the hardest decisions I'll ever make.
